VERVE and ZOYA
Greece seemed to be transported to India’s commercial capital, Mumbai, at Zoya, a few weeks ago. It was an evening of adornment as Zoya’s Greek collection was showcased at the glittering boutique nestled in a cosy end of South Mumbai. Each exquisite piece of jewellery had a story attached to Greek mythology that bestowed a mystique to its form. The invitees, all Verve readers, trooped in to take a look at creations steeped in history. The jewels apart, the evening also staged some entertainment in the true Grecian spirit. A play directed by Lillete Dubey – Lysistrata – a story of a Greek princess who manages to convince the Greek army to stop warring against each other by overpowering them with classic feminist charm and wit – engaged the attention of the invitees. Seen at the intimate evening were Jyotika Prem Narayan, Neelam Shah, Radha Bajaj and Anjala Singh. Also mingling and making their presence felt were Madhabi Puri Buch, Sumita Advani, Monisha Gidwani, Meenu De, Palak Sheth, Rakhee Lalvani and Patty Desai. The elite guests heartily applauded the performance and the pieces on show. The evening had wine and mocktails doing the rounds and the light banter and Greek food pleased every palate. Zoya proved in ample measure that it is an exclusive gallery of fine art through its signature pieces on display. The Greek collection finds inspiration through the stories of gods, goddesses and fearless warriors through time depicted in gold and diamonds. After all, the evolution of every masterpiece from inspiration to final design is an exquisite story and so is the case with this Greek collection. It was an evening of craft, culture and creativity…and Verve was there, spearheading it all!
