ARRESTING LINES Return to your Math class. Figure out the angles and cuts, acute and obtuse, degrees and arcs. Jagged and impactful geometric elements are this season’s key design features. Build your wardrobe on a strong base. You can be softly sharp with linear printed girly dresses, or mercilessly razor with precision tailoring. Angular hemlines, panelling, super-crisp pleating, an oversized stiff bow, jutted hips or even embellishments like 3D appliqués and pin-tucks can provide architecturally empowered dress options. Be constructive.

COLOUR CRASH Startle the faint-hearted with vivid hues. Be loud, brash and create a splash with strong shades and neons. Notch up tangerine to fiery orange, lime to fluorescent, fuchsia to hot pink. If first impressions are memorable, make sure your colour choices create an indelible impact. But retain focus; bright attire means you have to be careful with make-up. Unless you have the confident nonchalance of Zhandra Rhodes, there is a chance that your dominant palette will overshadow you, or take you to ‘freak’ territory. Make sure you hold the reins; you should have the control.
