Jodhpur witnessed a fun-filled, adventurous extravaganza as the 33rd edition of the popular Mahindra Great Escape got underway through the Osian village nearby in the great Thar Desert. The Mahindra Great Escape is a non-competitive rally in which participants are invited to drive through the desert and witness the capability of their Mahindra vehicles on one of the toughest terrains in the country. The Great Escape was indeed a test of man and machine making an effort to cross miles of sand to crest the ribbon at the finish line. This time 150 people, with their Mahindra vehicles, enthusiastically traversed the extreme terrain and climate. Since 1996, the annual event has been held in various locations across India, as diverse as Daman (Silvassa), Maharashtra (Shahapur), Karnataka (Coorg) and Rajasthan (Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Osia, Manwar, Jaipur and Mandawa).
