VERVE NCPA and THE STUTTGART CHAMBER ORCHESTRA

It was an evening that the culture set of Mumbai will remember for a long time. The Stuttgart Orchestra – a frequent guest on international cultural podia – made its musical presence felt in performances at the grand Jamshed Bhabha Wing of the National Centre for Performing Arts. The elite put their hands together for the artistes who have toured several lands – apart from their local performances – and have been applauded in places like the Far East, Mexico, South America, USA, Turkey, Russia, Austria Norway and Sweden.

The concerts were partnered by Mercedes and Verve. As the delightful sounds of Dvorak, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Bach floated through the royal halls of the lavish auditorium, the guests and invitees took their fill of the classical music which is any maestro’s delight. And during the performances, the audiences sat in complete silence, where only the rustle of a gown or the sigh of admiring breath could be felt, more than heard.

The Verve Lounge was set up on both days in the spacious Jamshed Bhabha foyer and, after the music-filled two days, it was time to raise a toast to the members of the orchestra at a well laid out after-party. The centre of attention here were Verve’s latest issue and the new Mercedes E Class cars that were proudly on display. Kushrow Suntook, Chairman, NCPA, ensured his guests were well looked after and spoke about his next cultural project - The Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI), an ensemble of talent that has put India on the map of western classical music.

The evening continued in the delightful dinner setting on the lawns of the NCPA as everyone relaxed in the cool sea-infused breeze and world-renowned music director and violinist Marat Bisengaliev made his presence felt as well. All in all, an evening where Verve tuned in perfectly with music connoisseurs from India and the world!
