Photographer Marcus Leatherdale (of New York celebrity portraiture fame) has taken a shot at capturing – and through his lens, paying homage to – Indian Adivasi tribes. Leatherdale started his journey in 1993 from Benares. While the ‘exotic’ appeal of the subject may easily become a failing, it is his obvious sophistication with the lens that holds the images together. Find his work at the newly opened – solely for photography – Matthieu Foss Gallery (Ballard Estate, Mumbai) running from January 15 until February 13.
