Verve discovers an eclectic range of art this month

Enamel on metal is an art form that is lacking the attention it deserves. WABI-SABI by Veenu Shah, an exhibition of mobiles, installations, art work in enamel, recently concluded at the Gallery Romain Rolland, New Delhi was a tribute to this rather striking ancient art form.
Jayasri Burman takes you through A Mythical Universe of gods and their changing relationships in myth, legend, fable and allegory in a pictorial art tradition. Shows on at Lalit Kala Academies (Rabindra Bhavan, New Delhi) from January 14 to 20 and Art Alive Gallery (Panchsheel Park, New Delhi) from January 23 to 30 (Panchsheel Park, New Delhi).
Nayanaa Kanodia explores sentiments towards Mumbai in her exhibition A City Wakes Up Inside Me on view at Museum Gallery from January 18 to 24.
India By Snowdon, an exhibition of photographs and a book of portraits by legendary photographer Lord Snowdon, representing some high-profile people from the arts, politics, etc., is on display at PHOTOINK (Faiz Road, New Delhi) all through the month until January 30.
Bangladeshi artist, Mahbubur Rahman, showcases his residency digital works, installation and photographs in the show Mumbai Tropism at Blue Frog (Lower Parel, Mumbai) until January 16.
Baroda-based South Korean Kim Kyoungae is not exhibiting in India for the first time. But, this body of work, which took two years to complete, is inspired from the changes she observed in her hometown during her last visit, especially the problem of women taken as sex slaves during the war. See the works at Hacienda Art Gallery (Kala Ghoda, Mumbai) from January 21 to 31.
