Forever fresh
The most important thing you need to do to kick-start a day after a night out and make it easier to cope with is to first beat the blues by taking a quick cold shower. This will completely wake you up. Next, eat a good healthy breakfast. Skipping meals before or after an outing is never a good idea as it can cause acidity. You get so caught up with hectic party schedules that you tend to let go of your usual ‘healthy’ routine which consists of eating and sleeping well along with a good exercise regime. Says make-up artist Kapil Bhalla, “To stay on top of things, it is essential to keep yourself well hydrated by drinking lots of water and taking vitamin C supplements regularly, will pep you up and keep you well.” If you need to go out during the day after a long night out, a little make-up can help as well. “Apply a subtle shade of blush only to the apples of your cheeks. Shiseido offers Accentuating Powder Blush to give your face that warmth. You can also use Shiseido Luminising Color powder to give an instant glow,” recommends Tashnu Kahriwala, Brand Manager, Shiseido.

Avoid panda eyes
After long days and nights out over days, the tiredness begins to show in the eyes. Usually one applies make-up to conceal the exhaustion but occasionally playing down the eyes and diverting attention to the mouth can be a good option. “Applying a dark wine or fuchsia shade to the lips can be quite helpful,” advises Bhalla. Long nights out also result in the face bloating up, which causes puffy eyes. Although back-to-back plans don’t leave much time for sleep, it is important to get enough rest. “Hydra Feel Refreshing Eye Gel from YSL also helps,” suggests Charmaine Rao, make up artist, YSL. A few quick-fix home remedies can do the trick too. Apply a compress of chilled water directly over closed lids, leaving it on for a few minutes or soak cotton wool pads in cold rose water and let it rest under your eyes for 10 minutes, says beauty expert Shahnaz Husain.

Cover up blemishes
“To conceal blemishes, especially dark pimple marks, use a foundation or concealer that is two shades lighter than your normal foundation or skin tone. Take very little and apply it directly on the blemish. Avoid rubbing or smearing. Instead pat it into the skin and then apply loose powder. Finally, use your normal foundation or pressed powder (powder compact) on the entire face, choosing a shade that is as close to your skin-tone as possible,” advises Husain.

DIY hair
Too many parties and no time to blow dry? There are many alternatives. If you are planning on going out on consecutive days of the week and don’t want to wash your hair everyday one of the best options is to use dry shampoo TIGI does a great one called ‘Dirty Secret.’ If you are planning on shampooing your hair often and don’t have time to dry it, the key is to use the correct shampoo suited to your hair type. Evidently, if your hair is given the correct texture after a hair wash, it falls its best and well enough to avoid a blow dry. Another home remedy is “sprinkle a little eau de cologne on your brush and brush your hair. It absorbs oil and leaves your hair cleaner and fragrant,” suggests Husain.
