Role Play

The most important thing for me is the kind of space that I’ve been living in for many years. I try to see it and feel it and try to join it with truth. In my society, there is an intricacy involved with the relationship between male and female – which is almost a riddle. In childhood, boys and girls are always equal and friends. From the first grade until university, they tend to become enemies and in the university, the friendship angle is revisited. This play and reaction of people in one place is what I find interesting – especially when reaching a point of time when they get married and experience the things they had never considered. Marriage is a philosophical topic, similar and familiar world-wide; despite varying according to the situation, culture and the social rules of the area. I choose to photograph in black and white in order to avoid having a filter that deceives your eyes and your mind. Why do most animals see in black and white or just one colour? Why do philosophies mention that the first day of creation or earth creation was in the dark? Colour is beautiful and attractive but also illusive and charming.
