Flamboyanté offers a perfect sanctuary from Mumbai’s scorching heat with its fresh menu and bartending tricks courtesy the Bacchus Beverage Academy

The Gulmohar tree nestled in World Trade Centre, Cuffe Parade, charms guests as they walk into Flamboyanté’s courtyard. The restaurant, which offers alfresco dining, has now fashioned a new carte du jour by the Bacchus Beverage Academy. Founded by Amrish Arora of Flamboyanté, renowned bartender Eric Lobo and sommelier George Varghese, the academy offers bacchants cocktail and mocktail-making sessions at the live bar. Wine-tasting sessions and visits to wineries and distilleries are coupled with the opportunity to bartend at Flamboyanté. “We will create a new and specialised breed of bartenders,” says Eric Lobo.

With uniqueness serving as their cachet, blends of tropical fruits and exotic ingredients reveal piquant avatars of pomegranate sangria, William Tell, fruit smoothies, mojitos and margaritas. Keeping the fickle summer wind in mind, mint, kokum and yoghurt are cooling stars that can’t be skimped on. ‘These new drinks will keep you cool and in high spirits too,’ quips Amrish Arora.

Flamboyanté celebrated the launch of its new cocktails menu with a live retro band. The sprightly evening, hosted by Amrish and Shalini Arora along with Eric Lobo and George Varghese, was attended by guests like Shobhaa De, Kishin Mulchandani, Mamta Raja. Coolers for the warm Indian summer included organic kokum wine, coconut water mojitos, jalapeno vodka, musk melon coolers and aam panna among others, while the eclectic spread included sushi, dimsums, vodka panipuri, salads, dips, pizzas and pan Asian cuisine. Flamboyanté is complementing their innovative drinks menu with a host of seasonal bar snacks from their three kitchens, offering their aficionados a whole new way to unwind.
