The automobile industry is a male bastion and photographing it is possibly even more so. Yet Shraddha Kadakia waltzed into this field and walked away with bragging rights after clinching projects for some of India’s biggest brands. She brings a distinctly feminine perspective to these shoots. “Women see more beauty in things. They see the shape and cuts of the vehicle but at the end of the day the image should do justice to the product.” The elfin photographer admits she loves working with big products. “The entire set up is huge there are more people involved so you don’t just need photography skills, you also need management skills.” Her first foray into the field came in her third year at Sophia College when she was commissioned to shoot the making of Ganesh idols at Lalbaug. This was the first time she appreciated the power and responsibility that came with the medium. But she also harbours love for travel photography. “You interact with new people and locals, capture real life and try and freeze that moment, which becomes a beautiful memory. It helps me grow personally.”
