Over the past 20 years, Tina Tahiliani-Parikh’s fashion house, Ensemble, has earned a reputation of excellence in fashion. As its name suggests, this portal for innovative, high-quality style offers an ensemble for every taste. The store did not disappoint at the preview of its Spring/Summer 2009 Collection held in association with Verve.

A wide range of guests including Ensemble’s loyal customers who sauntered in on a lazy February morning at the store’s Lion’s Gate outlet were greeted by a burst of energetic colour. Ensemble’s executive director, Tina Tahiliani-Parikh and Verve editorial director, Parmesh Shahani, welcomed guests against a backdrop poster of the gorgeously stylish actor Sonam Kapoor on Verve’s stunning February cover. The preview featured the collections of 20 renowned names in Indian fashion including Lecoanet Hemant, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Anamika Khanna, Surily, Cue and new sparks like Gaba. As delicate hors d’oeuvres and fresh juice floated around the room, the guests walked about, enchanted by the garments. With a collection of immaculate designs that were bold yet sophisticated, hip yet classic, clean yet carefree, it was hard not to be seduced. From sharp cuts to summery, flowing patterns, there was an outfit for every shape, preference and occasion.

The guest list was as stylish as the collection and Verve. Jewellery designer Shaheen Abbas and Rachna Bajaj among several others passed in and about racks and installations. Ensemble loyalists and fashionistas, Karishma Javeri, Neelam Shah and Prerna Goel, who were featured last month in Verve’s Ensemble special (a prelude to this much-awaited event) were present. As the afternoon came to an end, sated fashion lovers walked out with new loot, ready to face a brand new season – with pizzazz and verve.
