The newly launched Indian Accent restaurant at The Manor, Delhi, impresses with its desi menu with a twist

Indian Accent utilises the lush landscape of The Manor and overlooks a veranda and a gorgeous lawn. The restaurant with a private dining room and a bar with a stunning onyx counter is comfortably stylish. The eatery has a menu that reads ‘inventive Indian’ – which means it’s different from the usual Indian fare.

Old World Hospitality’s executive chef Manish Mehrotra has crafted the innovative carte du jour, while Britain’s celebrated wine guru Charles Metcalfe has put together a formidable wine list.Indian Accent has an exciting list of white wines from the New World wine countries, which complement Indian flavours brilliantly. The cuisine is no less wide-ranging. The fare surprises with its innovative fusion of global ingredients and techniques with flavours and traditions of India. The distinct menu is clearly what really scores for the eatery.

The uniquely delectable spread includes Foie Gras Stuffed Galawat, Smoked Salmon Thayar Satham, Tamarind Glazed Lamb Shank, Masala Morels Water Chestnut Paper Roast Dosai, Chicken Tikka Chaat and Kakra Mille Feuille, Simla Mirch Mayo, Tofu Nariyal Kofte and so on. Desserts range from Old Monk Rum Balls with Valrhona Chocolate Sauce to Toffee Chyawanprash Cheesecake with Badam Milk!

The décor, two gigantic silver ‘diya trees of life’, provide a local touch to the otherwise contemporary feel. With marigold and frangipani flowers as warm leitmotifs, the restaurant is welcoming and indulging at the same time.
