Jewellery designer Poonam Soni and Verve treated the city’s beau monde to a slice of Spain with a special sale of her latest collection

ON A RECENT FRIDAY, POONAM SONI’S STORE AT Altamount Road showcased her celebrated Spanish collection ‘Gaudi Revived’ for an exclusive all-day long sale for its select clientele. The magnificent collection, which has patent rights for the first time in India, is inspired by the works of Spain’s leading architect Antoni Gaudi. The range uses hand painted stained glass, brickwork and metal meshes in unison with the finest of diamonds and precious stones. Each stunning piece takes about two months to craft and Verve has always happily associated itself with all things luxurious and unique. This event was no different. “Poonam Soni is a luxury brand which targets a niche clientele which is absolutely similar to Verve’s readership profile. Its readers are those select people who are my buyers,” says Poonam Soni, delighted with the response.

Gaudi Revived has achieved Spanish patronage and will be sold with the official Spanish emblem. The guest list included Sabira Merchant, Sabina Singh, Divya Palat, Sharon Prabhakar, Mayumi Pujolas, Kahini Merchant, Gayatri Khanna, Zeba Kohli, Vidya Jhaveri, Priya Awasti among others. Most of the invitees were seen discussing the jewellery on display and picking their favourites and browsing through the pages of Verve. There were some clients who came back for a second glance and to buy their picks. Sparkling wine and hors d’oeuvres added to the laid back atmosphere. Apart from the jewellery, the other stars of the day were appetising chocolates packaged in bright red wrappers moulded with coloured nuts especially concocted to complement the jewels on display!
