‘String Theory’ delineates boundaries on a map drawn by people in power, not taking into consideration the plight of the displaced humans. Border lines are but strings in a game, as ancient as the ‘Cat’s Cradle’. In the current context it applies to the apathy of politicians, as they create rifts among people for personal gain. In the name of religion, caste and creed, they play on our vulnerability and change lives irrevocably.
Mumbai-based Jaideep Mehrotra has held 19 solo exhibitions in India and abroad. He has a unique style, developed as a concatenation from introspection and mystical exploration.
