Neil Bhoopalam gears up for the movies

He’s the ‘good looking rascal’ who’s making women go week-kneed each time the John Miller ad is aired on TV. So, does Neil Bhoopalam think he fits the tag? “I believe so. After seeing the final ad and the response it has received,” he grins. From being the youngest RJ to hit the air waves to dabbling in celluloid, Neil has tried his hands at various media. He was also one of the winners of Channel V’s VJ Freshers show. “I took a year off after college to try theatre. That’s when I decided to take up acting as a profession.” Making his debut with the comedy film Mera Dil Leke Dekkho, Neil is currently shooting for Mocktail (working title) and has two other releases lined up – Rajat Kapoor’s A Rectangular Love Story and Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye. “I enjoy acting. It’s a profession that gives you license to be someone else,” says the actor who dreams of playing Batman or a super villain on screen. What if he doesn’t make the cut? “I will work my way behind the camera – writing or directing or both!”
