Meet Subhash Ghai’s latest discovery, Ausshima Saawhney

Ausshima Saawhney believes life’s too short to waste and is determined to make every moment count. She considers acting in a Subhash Ghai film – Yuvvraaj – at such an early stage of her career a good start. Armed with a degree in media arts production and communication from Sydney, this ex-Miss India finalist and former model admits she was apprehensive about joining the film industry in the beginning. “I come from a non-filmi background and had heard a lot of scary stories about this profession.” Now that she is here, the only thing she wants to change is the number of hours in a day. “I would love to have 36 hours so there’s time for both work and play – after all you live just once!” As for the future, Ausshima is busy with Yugander’s The Goodbye Trip and a yet-to-be-titled Rohit Roy release. And even though she can’t pull off 36 hours a day, she wants to “globetrot and see exotic locations” if she gets any time off.
