Bit roles in Yun Hota To Kya Hota and Honeymoon Travels didn’t do much for Shahana Goswami’s Bollywood dreams. But her strong act as Arjun Rampal’s highly strung wife in Rock On!! has brought her both visibility as well as acclaim. “It was my first big film. I’m still getting used to all the attention. It feels surreal,” says the sassy actor who will be seen in a spate of movies including Jashan, Sudhir Mishra’s Tera Kya Hoga Johnny, Nandita Das’ Firaq and Vinay Shukla’s Mirch. Too many art films? “Not really. I don’t compartmentalise cinema. As long as the role offers enough for me to perform and for the audience to see, I’m happy,” shrugs the erstwhile theatre actor who moved to Mumbai from Delhi to chase her acting dreams four years ago. With a promising future on 70 mm to look forward to, she’s got her act together, alright. Plus, she features in Dido’s latest video. Rocking!
