Adah Sharma impresses with her spooky debut in 1920

Dance is life for Adah Sharma, so much that she asked director Vikram Bhatt whether there was scope for a twist or turn somewhere in her debut horror flick, 1920. A psychology graduate, her love for dance made her enrol for a seven-year Kathak course. “Vidya Balan’s secretary saw me perform at one of the shows at the institute and decided to manage my work,” reveals the actor. Filmdom has been no joy ride for the 21-year-old who comes from a non-filmy background. “1920 happened eight months after I started going for auditions.” But Adah is thrilled with the response she’s been getting for her challenging debut. “I would have loved to run around trees and do the thumkas but was fortunate to land a role of a possessed woman, which gave me huge scope to perform in my very first film,” she gushes. Offers have started pouring in for the movie buff, who makes sure she catches a movie every Friday with her gang.
