Sid Makkar’s juggling theatre, TV as well as the big screen

This soft-spoken and intelligent actor is currently flashing his charm, making the ladies swoon in Mere Apne, wooing audiences on stage in Lift Karade and his upcoming play Table for Two directed by Tanaaz and Bakhtyaar Irani. Sid who has an interesting role in Straight with Gul Panang and Vinay Pathak lined up for release this year, is also excited about Zoya Akhtar’s Luck by Chance starring Hritik Roshan and Konkana Sen Sharma. Beginning his career with Kis Kis Ki Kismat with Mallika Sherawat, he moved to crossover cinema with independent American film Offshore, which recently did the rounds in the festival circuit. Juggling a packed schedule, Sid is a firm believer in perseverance and enjoys acting because it enables him to create different lives. The alumnus of University of Austin, Texas enjoys kicking back with a book, watching Scarface (he’s seen it 43 times already) and playing a sport. But with his current line-up, the newly married artiste hasn’t even had take time off for a honeymoon!
