Gently scrub away dry skin from your face, elbows, knees and prepare to envelop yourself in glowing soft skin. Tabasum Mir shows you the way

As the days get longer and temperatures begin to climb, it’s likely that your body is still showing signs of dry, scaly, rough skin on heels, knees and elbows. If your skin feels flakey and undernourished, here are some steps to pamper yourself to an overall glow.

Drink water
Water is necessary for internal hydration, resulting in better external hydration. Too many of us do not drink enough fluids and are dehydrated and over the long-term this can hurt our vitality, making us feel lethargic and sluggish. Make it a habit to drink at least 30 oz of water every day.

Exfoliate
After a shower, take a washcloth and literally scrub your body from head to toe. Doing so gently is better than using grainy scrubs. This will remove dead skin cells and allow skin to feel smoother and softer. Try this twice weekly.

Moisturise
One of the easiest moisturisers you can use is white petroleum jelly — particularly on the roughest areas of the skin, such as heels, elbows and knees. One treatment tip is to coat heals and feet with petroleum jelly and cover with thick cotton socks. Wear them at bedtime and it can dramatically soften your feet overnight. Any time you are doing a household or garden chore that requires you to wear rubber gloves or gardening gloves, put on a light coat of petroleum jelly first, then the white gloves, then the rubber gloves over that. This will give you super soft hands.

De fuzz
Many women pay less attention to body hair during the cooler months and come warm weather, they face the issues of hair removal. The best initial step to prepare for hair removal, is a full-body exfoliation before you do any hair removal treatments. Use a mild natural ingredient like sugar mixed with a little water to very gently rub your body several days before waxing or any other chemical hair removal. This will loosen and remove dead skin cells, which will make hair removal easier and also limit ingrown hair.
Do not undertake any body scrub or exfoliations on the day of your treatment. The latest you can do it is 24 hours or preferably 48 hours prior to any hair removal procedure.
