SIR ALISTAIR RAI
Inspired by her multi-cultural roots, Indian heritage, love for rock-n-roll and passion for fashion, designer Kiran Rai started a creative clothing brand called Sir Alistair Rai. This innovative collection of tanks, T-shirts, dresses and accessories are all inspired by the peaceful philosophies of Mohandas K. Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr, Hindu deities, ancient Sanskrit texts and the popular ‘peace, love and unity’ slogans. This sporty line most certainly makes you think outside the box and aims at promoting global awareness. For S/S 08 Rai expresses her take on Bollywood through headscarves inspired by the romantic lyrics of item songs, ‘King Khan’ T-shirts, or ‘Aishwarya Wrap’ sweaters and crystal wraps in colours such as marigold orange, monsoon grey, peacock blue and paparazzi purple.
