Dancing spells passion for Priti Gupta

Dancing was just a means of earning some extra cash for this young physiotherapist, but Priti Gupta’s life took a 360 degree turn, with a little twist, step and swivel. Though she trained in bharatnatyam since she was six, Priti realised her true passion for dance only when, at 20, she joined Sandip Soparrkar’s Ballroom Studio. She’s a senior instructor today. Together with several new ventures came the opportunity to represent India at various international Latin Ballroom Dance Sport Championships. From flamenco to ghoomar, she has trained in almost 22 different dance forms. As she gears up for another series of international championships across Asia, Priti says, “I’m most fond of Latin and ballroom dancing and most of them being couple dances turns out to be very therapeutic in a way. Also, you express various moods like fun (Jive), love (Rumba) and even anger (Paso Doble).”
