This isn’t about subtlety but, a hint of glint will do the trick, if you’re not up for sheets of shiny sequins. Slip into a sparkling pair of Louboutins or sport a cool Juicy Couture scarf. For the uber glam accessory carry a sequinned purse that will add a sparkly splash of flair to any ensemble. Presented in colourful rainbow hues, a number of leading Indian designers from Drashta Sarvaiya to Namrata Joshipura have featured this gleaming look in their collections for summer.

DRAMATIC DRAPES
Boasting of an unusual combination of comfort, sophistication and absolute style, it comes as no surprise that drapes are one of summer’s hottest trends. Sensuous silks, sheer chiffons, rich jerseys and soft satins have been transformed into elegant and gracefully draped silhouettes. Presented in luxurious shades of chocolate brown, teal grey, emerald green, ruby red and midnight blue, these classy creations are beautifully complemented by diamanté and crystal embellishments. Christian Dior and Salvatore Ferragamo showed some beautiful one-shoulder Grecian goddess gowns this spring. While closer to home, sari-inspired asymmetric dresses, tops and tunics were popular in Tarun Tahiliani and Gayatri Khanna’s collections.
