Ferena Wazeir’s weaving Bollywood dreams

Taking a break from her studies in Scotland, Ferena Wazeir was ‘spotted’ by ace photographer Farrokh Chotia at a camel fair in Pushkar in Rajasthan. She shot for a couple of magazines and even screentested for Anurag Kashyap’s film. But the venture didn’t work out, so she headed back to Scotland. But the offers followed her up to Britain. Fereina has already wrapped up shooting for Ketan Mehta’s Rang Rasiya based on the life of Raja Ravi Verma. She plays a Parsi journalist and Verma’s muse. This year sees the pretty debutante playing the lead in Raj Kanwar’s Sadiyan opposite Shatrughan Sinha’s son Luv Sinha and also in Danis Tanovic’s — of No Man’s Land fame — bilingual film. “Sadiyan is a love story set during India’s partition. I’m thrilled at the idea of sharing screen space with legends like Rekha, Rishi Kapoor and Hema Malini!” Ferena also features in Soni Razdan’s directorial debut based on Manju Kapoor’s book Difficult Daughters. Talk about dream vacations.
