Almost Single has made Advaita Kala almost famous

After losing her grandfather in the fifth grade, she began penning down her feelings for cathartic value. Thus began Advaita Kala’s journey as a writer. A hospitality professional for seven years, her hiatus from work gave her the chance to write for hours together, resulting in her first book, Almost Single. Having seen Indian society looking down upon single women despite their professional success, Advaita wanted to give people a chance to laugh at themselves and create a parody around the hunt. On her protagonist Aisha she says, “I saw Aishas all around me, girls trying to strike a balance between love, life, career and tradition; living with the repercussions of being true to themselves. I hoped that through Aisha’s story I’d be able to share a story of friendship and the concept of soul buddies.” With another book in the making, it seems the author has finally found her calling.
