Captivate and mesmerise in this season’s simple shifts and bright baubles...

SHIFT DRESSES
One of the easiest silhouettes to wear, the shift dress is all the rage this season. Made popular in the 1960s this look is a simple, short dress that hangs straight down from the shoulder with little waist definition, giving it a sleek line. Today, the shift has been reinvented and modernised with trendy features that include innovative sleeves, embellishments and prints. However its classic simplicity still remains its main attraction. This versatile trend can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Pair it with some opaque tights and block heels for über chic style, or belt it up and slip on glitzy stilettos for a curvier shape. Check out Chloé, Donna Karan and Calvin Klein on the international shores. While closer to home reputed designers like Nimita Rathod and Anupamaa Dayal sport this stylish trend.

COSTUME JEWELLERY
All that glitters is not gold this season. Big, bold and trendy, costume jewellery is back with a bang. Ranging from multicoloured glass beads, chandelier earrings and chic cocktail rings, to rhinestone encrusted hair combs, crystal cuffs and sparkling brooches, dazzling fashion baubles are here to stay. Costume jewellery is the apt accessory in today’s ever-changing world of fashion, making it easy to have something to match every ensemble. Rich shades of smoky quartz, molten brown, teal, amber, amethyst, champagne, acid green and topaz complement the backdrop of wood, glass and assorted metals. This enchanting trend has been spotted everywhere from young, talented designers like Suhani Pittie and Vasundhara Mantri to established international fashion houses like Christian Dior and Chanel.
