Verve toasts some of the most promising faces of 2008

TAMARA MOSS, 20, model
Buzz: Plum assignments, among the most sought after fresh faces
Make it mantra: Right place, right time. Great attitude
From the Taj Spa Calendar 2008 to the Kingfisher Calendar 2008 the Lakmé TV commercial and her most recent role as brand ambassadress for clothes brand, Chemistry, young model Tamara Moss’ repertoire of work is impressive. Her success does not really come as a surprise given that Tamara has one of the most versatile faces in the industry which effortlessly lends itself to both, commercial work as well as to the ramp. She herself remains completely unaffected by it all and puts it down to “being at the right place at the right time, having a lean figure and a positive, fun attitude that ensures that people don’t feel like running away after spending a 14-hour work day with me”. The hardest thing she has had to overcome so far was some teenage introvertedness.

Tamara is fascinated by everything related to fashion and is able to draw inspiration from anywhere – a dramatic fashion feature, a creative collection, a provoking campaign, a photography book or just working with the top professionals in the business. As personal style goes, she’s not much into designer clothes and would rather mix and match and accessorise with shawls, hats and heeled boots. Not to mention indulge her fetish for shoes. “It’s always the shoes I’m after – it’s a real stylist’s nightmare. There’s nothing like being able to dig around at a shoot and try on all the stylist’s clothes.” Comfortably classy with minimal jewellery, natural make-up and casual messy hair sums up her style. This year, with so many designer brands slated to come in, she hopes to get exciting work in exclusive launch campaigns. “I would also love to finally finish my relief painting.”
