Model Jesse Randhawa could have walked straight off the runway into the glamorous sets of Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking to sing her item, mocked critics. But the leggy lady insists “it was a very stylishly shot video.” The song, choreographed by Ashley Lobo had Jesse lip-synching to the soulful voice of Adnan Sami. It’s not a regular item number, she insists. “Think Chicago.” Jesse is now set to make a real foray into mainstream Bollywood with a significant role in Anurag Kashyap’s Gulal which hits theatres next year. Acting is all about emoting and getting into the skin of the character, she says. The model, who admires Sridevi, hopes to try her hand at comedy and even put her Tae Kwon Do skills to test in an action flick someday. That’s fighting spirit, all right.
