It is fitting that foremost portrait photographer, Annie Leibovitz, a celebrity in her own right, was chosen by luxury leader Louis Vuitton, to picturise their global corporate advertising campaign. Featuring statesman Mikhail Gorbachev, husband and wife tennis stars Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf and film icon Catherine Deneuve, the theme of the ‘core values’ campaign which will run alongside the seasonal fashion ads, is travel. While restating Louis Vuitton’s 150-year heritage as a pioneer in the creation of fine luggage, Leibovitz interprets the travel concept as an emotional one, presenting a process of self-discovery. Louis Vuitton is making donations to The Climate Project spearheaded by Al Gore and to Green Cross International of which Gorbachev is founder and Chairman. Verve takes a peek behind the scenes... Are you a photographer with a fresh perspective on life? Do you have creative pictures that capture the essence of existence? Send in your compositions to art@verveonline.com. The best images will be featured in Framed.
