French dignitaries and the select invitees present at the Hotel Oberoi, Mumbai, applauded as Dominique Girard, the French Ambassador to India, bestowed upon Ashwini Kakkar the knighthood of the Ordre National du Mérite for his sterling contributions to the corporate world. Flutes of champagne did the rounds of the ballroom and the gathering promptly raised a toast after the investiture.
