An acclaimed actor, Deepti Naval has more than 60 films to her credit. The multifaceted artiste who paints, directs and writes is also a consummate photographer. An avid traveller, Naval is fascinated by the starkness and spirituality of the remote mountains of Ladakh and Himachal. Here, she goes behind the camera and presents a series of photographs of a red temple that conjure a gamut of feelings and emotions. From the powerful image of Goddess Kali strikingly juxtaposed against a branch of thorns to a simple cluster of temple bells, the photographs shot against a crimson backdrop, depict Naval’s gift for layering hues, textures and moods. Are you a photographer with a fresh perspective on life? Do you have creative pictures that capture the essence of existence? Send in your compositions to art@verveonline.com. The best images will be featured in Framed.
