Bling rules in elegant waist clinchers that hug dresses, hold together bags and strap up shoes galore in the Fendi Fall/Winter 2006-07 collection
In shoes, smooth toe peepers in patent leather, suede wedges, lean straps, slender laces and thick heels appeal. The hues range from sage, raven black and brooding browns to muted oranges, soft creams and burnished gold. The deft engineering reveals itself in the cutting of leather of the upper section of the shoe in one piece with the high heel, leaving no visible seam until the inside of the heel, where it joins with cross-laced stitchery. Languid greys, soft greens and classic black form the mainstay of the runway palette. Fur geometrics on coats create movement in the fitting forms. Suave fur lapels, back buttoned dresses, wrap collars and ridged lines rule. Sleeves become more feminine in puffed versions ranging from quarter to mid lengths. The clincher is the black dress with lacy neckline and waif-like appeal in the gauzy slit sleeves. For the innocent appeal, the black pearl dotted wispy dress serenades. And wins. |
