From saucy to suave, the Versace JC affair this season has denim
flirting with your derrière in more ways than one
They
are simply spunky. Jeans from the house of Versace form the Autumn-Winter
2006 collection that leaves you wanting more. For reasons enough. The
sassy, jaunty attitude has been threaded into each button, stud, sequin,
embossed and embroidered detail et al. Feel like a rock star? Gun for
a bling affair in a range of carbon coloured strait-fit, coin-pocketed
jeans with the diamante-embossed VJC sitting pretty on off-white labels
a la FTV style. The pouting pink rules in prewashed blue jeans, through
winking metallic buttons on front pockets, random darned blush spots
and a right back pocket slashed with flashy, flushed, metallic sequins
lined by straw and rust coloured stripes.
If elegance is your chosen poise, pull on the ivory corduroy jeans
with flap pockets behind and the snobbish, metallic VJC chip on a snakeskin-lookalike
label. For the subdued edge, there are rugged, blue and faded pairs
with the darting darns and back pockets striped with metallic gold and
rust thread. Pale yellow-faded blue jeans have been resurrected dramatically.
Gasp at the splendidly embroidered and bejewelled crown, replete with
teardrop and blazing, multi-coloured, round gemstones in rendezvous
with gold thread and sequins on the left back pocket. The diadem, branded
in gold embroidered thread, has a vermilion suede patch within and ends
in a gold cross, truly worthy of the Virgin Queen. Forming the perfect
foil for this pret pick is the snug denim jacket with the same regal
motif emblazoned on its back. Call it modern renaissance at its best.
Pick else for a casual accent, the blue denim jacket, with a self-embroidered
floral motif on the front right panel in light blue, cobalt and midnight
blue.
The
provocative hip huggers for men come in carbon coloured, rock star jeans,
complete with a slick, chunky steel label branded with the signature
diamante effect and dark blue and white-specked pairs with back pockets
striped with straw and metallic copper thread and a VJC chip on the
label. Then there are grunge, faded jeans with errant darned spots and
coffee stained embroidered stripes on back pockets that spell "I'm-too-sexy
for my je ne sais quoi..." and crushed sky blue jeans with metallic
straw, rust and copper embroidery and extra back pockets for tools,
the best bet for the outdoor man.
Apart from the denim do, the Versace Autumn/Winter 2006 collection
also sports a fair assortment of trendy full-sleeves, T-shirts and self-designed
baumwolle cotton shirts for men together with woollen pullovers, velvet
blouses, corduroy trousers, snazzy handbags and sleek shoes for women.
