Amongst the interesting people who thronged to Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) was Siddharth Dhanvant Shanghvi, of The Last Song Of Dusk, fame. He arrived for the Ashish N. Soni show and poised himself in the VIP lounge, ostensibly as a voyeur. He admitted to disinterest in fashion shows as a rule and was here to research the garments for the characters in his new novel. A particular pair of camel coloured, raw silk trousers on a beautiful lady struck him. They will probably find their way in his latest work. The novel's theme is that of an older woman seducing a young photographer. The structure, he mentioned, was based on the Karnala Caves where 'the darkness of one cubicle leads into the next and while you know there is light somewhere, you are not sure where'.

By evening's end, Shanghvi had decided, surrounded by the luxurious press and crush of Fashion Week, that the dictates of imagination certainly surpass reality!
