Endowed with an enviable physique, the six-foot plus Chetan Hansraj revels in being stylishly negative

The ring tone of gurgling babies on his cell phone is a dead giveaway of the latest role he's donned and sure enough, Chetan Hansraj - Sasha of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki - became the proud papa of a baby boy in February, this year. Like his actor-cousin, Jugal, Chetan too started off young and did almost 200 advertisements as a kid. Then he began to grow…and grow and only stopped when he touched the six feet plus mark.
With that enviable physique - he's played water polo at the state level - he was a natural for a glossy's 'Manhunt' contest. "I was the second runner-up." Then modelling beckoned…. "But I was too big for the ramp…at one point I had 17.5 inch biceps." So, he busied himself with TV campaigns (Tata Safari, Wagon R and Thums Up), "the last, with Akshay Kumar, was aired during the last World Cup, so I got instant fame." Fortune still played truant, so between advertising shoots and playing video games, he found time to drop off his photographs at Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms.

Garv of Kkusum happened first, then Sasha and more recently, the cameo of Inspector Mansingh Chauhan in Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. "Sasha is negative but he's stylishly so. I've never got hate mail. People just love me, especially the way I say 'Parvati aunty'..."

Unlike other TV stars, Chetan is not in a hurry to do too much too soon and besides playing chilled out papa ("That's how my dad's been with me"), he'll be seen in the soon-to-be-aired Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka.
