HAIR FARE: UP IN CURLS

Maybe it's the exaggerated influence of period films, or, more likely, fashion is just tired of poker-straight sheets of hair - whatever the reason, this year's artfully careless curls are the way to 'tress' up in style.
A sleek linen pantsuit is your best bet for long work days but soften this severe line with a casual slick-backed chignon that allows some baby curls to escape. Accessorise with mother of pearl combs. While you can work with some anti-frizz and styling gel to achieve natural-looking wavy locks, for a Jennifer Aniston-like smooth finish rush to your favourite salon - we do know all that looks untouched isn't actually so! All those vintage buys lying piled high in your closet can now beam sunny smiles with tonged locks. Just add some modern zing - put together the ruffled blouse with your Seven jeans, add some small white daisies to your pinned up curls and finish with a punk rock belt. To really work your curls, a layered cut is a basic essential. But consult with your salon stylist to find a red carpet look that best highlights your features and hair texture. Go for it: Lara Dutta, Sonali Bendre-Behl,
Suzanne Roshan. |
