I have always worked, but chose my assignments carefully so that they didn't take away from the fun of being a mother.... The national audience has always identified with Sachin, but I was an unfamiliar face, since I have worked more in the Marathi industry. Nach Baliye was like my comeback vehicle.

- Supriya Pilgaonkar

The performance: Tangoing in tandem to filmi duets.
The competition: Young. Much younger.
The contenders: 'Non dancers' Supriya and Sachin Pilgaonkar.
The prize: 50 lakhs.

They spar with each other humorously at a comfort level that has developed after having lived and ridden several storms together for two decades, as man and wife. "She nags me most of the time. When I was directing her in my television serial, Tu Tu Main Main, she would sometimes throw tantrums because she knew her husband was calling the shots," actor-director, Sachin, remembers. "I'd do that only when I wanted to go home early in the evening," shoots back his wife, Supriya. Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar - the oldest couple among the recent Star One reality dance show, Nach Baliye (inspired by Dance With Stars), contestants - who went on to win the Rs 50 lakh prize money, feel that they have rediscovered each other during the 16 tough weeks that they rehearsed and performed for the show. Sachin reflects, "I always knew that Supriya could dance but she suffers from low self-esteem (and a temperamental back problem). Nach Baliye offered her a platform to figure out what she was really worth."
