Indian designers hit the headlines in three much feted international fashion weeks

MANISH ARORA: MAYHEM AND MAGIC

LONDON

Oriental fabrics, weaves and prints along with Thai headgear and a plumage of feathers created a jungle boutique atmosphere. Manish Arora’s take on the Victorian bustle, was a tower of vertically displaced discs creeping cheekily up the derrière and looked like a psychedelic staircase going into the unknown. There were blistering bright colours and explosive patterns galore!

ASHISH SONI: SUBLIME AND STUNNING

NEW YORK

Beautifully avant-garde in approach and with no overt retro influences, Ashish Soni brought the finest nuances of design to New York, the melting pot of glamour and style. Black double sleeved boleros, poplin dresses with uneven hems, patterned appliqués on cotton voile dresses – all impeccably styled.

The finishing touches of the maestro!

Chic netaji beguiles the audience.

White sindoor and clouds of fabric made for inspiring fashion.

A perfectly embroidered belt - the devil is in the details!
