Italian label, Moschino’s new flagship store opens in Mumbai and introduces fashionistas to Trust Mumbai’s A-listers to do it already. So, was anyone surprised when socialite, Queenie Dhody, turned up in a black, body-sock, sequinned Moschino dress that later jauntily traversed the ramp? Or, that wildcard, Kishen Mulchandani, appeared buoyantly in vintage Moschino with brocade detail? Of course, sisters, Charu and Priya Sachdev (the latter betrothed to high-flying New York hotelier, Vikram Chatwal) perfectly embellished the collection themselves. But then, the 26- The Italian luxury brand made its Indian entry in Mumbai, with a short-and-smart ramp walk of their Autumn-Winter prêt-à-porter and Cheap and Chic lines, and a verging-towards-wild party, where the ramp proved the perfect improvisation for a dance floor. Mumbai’s who’s who showed up, all set to rival established international loyalists, ranging from superstar singer Madonna (in a demure avatar) to the striking and newly-pregnant Katie Holmes.
