Fashion's Artistic Endeavour
ONLINE EXCLUSIVE

Fashion found a literal manifestation at the London Fashion Week this year as creative director Christopher Bailey, of Burberry, that grand old brand with decades of clothing the beau monde, launched the book, The Snippy World of New Yorker Fashion Artist Michael Roberts.

Michael Roberts, fashion editor for the New Yorker, displays his creative dexterity in this book that collates over a 100 eyeball-grabbing visuals that have been etched out using a variety of techniques including pen, ink and acrylic paints. Not a novice in the milieu of visual art, his illustrations have appeared in magazines like French Vogue, Tatler and Interview. And if there was any doubt about Roberts' considerable talents, essays by the likes of John Galliano, Manolo Blahnik and Tim Blanks should lay them to rest.

The venue of the party was the flagship Burberry store on Bond Street attended by a cross section of the international cognoscenti. Christopher Bailey, Rose Marie Bravo, Stella Tenant, Rupert Everett, Manolo Blahnik, Sheryl Crowe, Anita Pallenberg, Lady Amanda Harlech and Ruby Stewart were a few of those in attendance.
