Bagging The Bride!

She twirls in her cherry heels and sequinned saris, ready to sashay into a world of dreams and desire. Verve and India’s top designers dress the bride-to-be in the romantic environs of the Louis Vuitton ancestral home in Asnières, Paris. The workshop, a few steps away from the house, occupies one part of the estate, and it is only here that all Louis Vuitton trunks, exotic leather goods and hard-sided luggage are exquisitely handmade. Red georgette sari with sequins and thread work, by JJ Valaya, New Delhi. Semi-precious stone and silver necklace, from Silvermaya, Mumbai. Much of the original architecture of the house remains the same, including the wooden frames and tile roofing. The style of the blue fireplace on the left dates back to the late 19th century. A company called France Paysages originally created the lush garden, which is today maintained with great care by the official director of the family house. Pink and mango silk draped lehenga and corset, topaz armbands, stone rings, gold shoes, all by Tarun Tahiliani, Mumbai. Stone and diamanté earrings, by Vasundhara Mantri, Kolkata. The Louis Vuitton home, museum and workshop finds its address in Asnieres, a district at the end of Paris. With a country-like feel to it, the location was also chosen because it offered easy access to rail and waterways. Renovating this historic structure took all of 2004.
