On the prowl of new night clubs, Shaista Vaishnav comes upon Squeeze, a must-visit club in the suburbs and a refreshing change from the regular lounges and discos that have mushroomed around the city.
Tired of hearing all about how there are no decent places to party at in the suburbs? Sick of having to commute all day and then again at night every time you want to hit a great club and groove to some half-decent tracks? Well, there's still some hope for us 'burbites! Especially if places like Red Light are first on your party-preference lists. Here comes Squeeze. Situated at Khar and jointly owned by five party-hearty guys, Squeeze is the quintessential urban-club haven.
Step in and one is instantly greeted with charming cobblestones and benches in the outside area. But one look inside and you are transported to a world of chrome and glass. The vast, wooden dance floor is a welcome change from all the 'lounge-bars' in the area that give one barely an inch of floor space to shake a leg. Learning from previous discotheque faux pas, the bar area has ample place to stand around it and relax with a colourful cocktail of your choice. Of course like most other places, Squeeze too has a hip, upper area. Ideal to cordon off for private parties and do's, it is well equipped with a bar of its own along with comfy couches and cosy coffee tables. Perfect to sit back with some delectable plates of fried prawns and chicken satay.

The music is a fresh mix of hip-hop, rap and popular remix tracks. The console being situated in a hassle-free mezzanine tucked away on the second level, ensuring that the DJ's table does not inconvenience the enthusiastic, buzzing crowd. The opening night saw a wide variety of guests. Right from bubbly starlets like Nauheed Cyrusi and Ayesha Takia, to Bollywood biggies like Karan Johar, from hunks like Zayed Khan to television stars like Aakashdeep Saigal, everyone seemed to be having a ball while sampling the delicious snacks and grooving to the funky music.
Squeeze definitely has its plus points. Being located in Khar, it is easily accessible to the ‘townies’ as well as the suburbanites. Its space too, is a major attraction as one can move around freely without bumping into every semi-intoxicated fellow around. Not to mention the potent drinks and scrumptious food. However, Squeeze is priced slightly on the expensive side, so go well-prepared! Another area where it could improve drastically is when it comes to the restrooms, which are way too tight and small, and tend to get crowded.
Other than that, a welcome change from the regular, cramped lounges and discotheques coming up everywhere. With a dance floor the size of three regular ones, Squeeze is the perfect place to go and boogie the night away!
