Every woman knows there is nothing worse then a bad hair day. It is estimated that we spend at least half an hour a day on our hair, be it brushing, conditioning or colouring it. Women have always fussed over their locks. Hairdressing is an art that can be traced back to the days of the ancients; it was the Romans who first invented curling tongs, Cleopatra used henna to keep her hair dark and glossy and Japanese women have been using hair lacquer for centuries. Your tresses really are your crowning glory.
Naughty Twenties: Play with colour.

This is when hair is at its best, shiniest and thickest for, as you get older, the diameter of each strand gets smaller. Says Kavita Punjabi, master stylist with the French salon, spa and hair academy that recently opened in Mumbai, Franck Provost, “At this age, the sebaceous glands are still very active. If you suffer from acne, there is a good chance your scalp is also oily. Look for a clarifying shampoo and avoid greasy styling products. It is very essential to use the right type of shampoos and conditioners for the hair type for this age group as well, depending on the treatments done to your hair.” Also avoid keeping your hair tied up tight all the time, it will lead to premature hair loss.
Colour: As far as possible, seek professional help when it comes to colouring. This is the age when you may want to play with colour. Look at the fashion shades that L’Oreal and Wella come out with each season; they can add some vibrancy to your look. Right now, perming does seem to be coming back into fashion but remember if you are small and petite, big hair may overpower you.
