Cool products to confront the summer heat. Verve evaluates

For the Hair

During the summer months hair colour can be unpredictable. Step out in the sun and it lightens, swim and it can go blue. Which is why Schwarzkopf has come out with the Bonacure Colour Seal Treatment. It keeps colour looking fresh and has natural UV
filters, so your locks will stay protected from those rays. It has a unique ingredient called Gaur Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride that repairs hair. It is like a vitamin pill for coloured hair. (Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure Colour Seal Treatment, Rs 500 for 200 ml, at leading salons in India.)
Packaging: The blue plastic tube looks more like a salon professional product than one you would want to keep on the dressing table.
Efficiency: A must-have for anyone with coloured hair. It helps keep colour looking alive and healthy.

For the Eyes
One of Maybelline’s best-selling products is their Expert Eyes Soft Lining Pencil. Easy to blend, it has a very soft look and works well in the summer, a time when harsh looks should be avoided. You can finish off with Revlon Lash Fantasy. This is the only mascara in India with the dual concept of primer and mascara. Its unique, double-sided applicator with primer on one end nourishes, lifts and lengthens the lashes giving them three times the lift. The colour mascara on the other end thickens, darkens and magnifies the lashes, adding twice the thickness. (Maybelline’s Soft Expert Eyes Soft Lining Pencil, Rs 199 and Revlon Lash Fantasy, Rs 350, at outlets throughout India.)
Packaging: Both products are very practical looking and are user-friendly. No frills here.
Efficiency: Maybelline’s Expert Eyes Soft Lining Pencil is very gentle and is safe for contact users. Revlon’s Lash Fantasy really lengthens those lashes and is waterproof, so if you must wear make-up while you swim, this is ideal.
