Pyjamas do the polka against static drawing boards and red moccasins cheekily nudge a shapely mannequin.Verve's summer fantasies – floral corsets, satin kimonos and multicoloured bloomers – float into the real world of a televised show where new designers will get that much coveted break on the ramp this season

She is wearing floral corset, by Shantanu Goenka; teal strip skirt, by Kiran Uttam Ghosh, for Kimono. Both in Kolkata.
Rust slippers, at Moss; shell necklace, at You. Both in Mumbai.
He is wearing floral shirt, by Seyam,
at Kimaya; grey linen trousers, from Canali, at The Taj. Both in Mumbai.
Lemon georgette pleated top, by Salim Asgarally; multicolour bloomers, by Anjali Harlalka; aqua 'Flamengo' earrings, at Frazer and Haws. Alll in Mumbai.

The Verve team shot on location at the Lakme Fashion House, Madh Island, where a first-of-its-kind, Indian reality show (on Star One), which has adopted an already successful international format based on the world of fashion, is being filmed. What to expect? 16 contestants, a round-the-clock production crew tracking their every move, a celebrity judge panel headed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, assisted by members from Bollywood and FDCI. Naomi Campbell and Donatella Versace will provide the glam factor; the latter will also offer the final winner an internship at her atelier along with a merchandising deal for the winning outfit. And of course, the lucky star will get to showcase his/her collection at this year’s India Fashion Week…
