On a warm and sunny afternoon, Deepak Parekh, chairman, HDFC Ltd., hosted a power-lunch at Wellington Mews, where the top names in the world of economics came a-partying, relegating personal tensions, company conflicts and business worries to the back-burner. The high-profile invitees stayed true to the prescribed colour code, pink sporting pink linen shirts, ties, cravats - even pink socks that peeped out from between well-creased trousers and polished shoes. Designer glares kept most eyes shaded, as the guests sipped delicately on cool champagne. Pink, of course. Overheard: "Wonder, what's really cooking in that corner."
