The UK glitterati alighted from their stretch limousines to give their solid support to a good cause at the second annual Pratham UK Charity Ball 2004 at the London Hilton, Park Lane, London. Disco king, Biddu, kick-started the ball and was followed in style by designer, Suneet Varma. Auctions conducted by Christie's raised a goodly sum. At the private reception held by Merrill Lynch earlier, top corporate honchos and the affluent Asian business folk appeared in their black suit tie with their hearts on their sleeves.
Overheard: "I got it…the racquet signed by tennis aces, Roger Federer and Andy Roddick is mine!"
