Sajni Gill's brainchild, Mumbai Sé, is making waves as the new fashion destination in Singapore
The brainchild of Sajni Gill, CEO, RSH Singapore, it is a tribute to 'The New India' - bold, cosmopolitan and progressive, yet still retaining the tasteful elegance of centuries of art, spirituality and culture. Sajni says, "Besides representing India's hottest designers like Monisha Jaising, Rocky S, Geisha Designs, Mumbai Sé will showcase the extraordinary master craftsmanship of Indian art, jewellery and textiles which are fusion contemporary. The lifestyle offerings will epitomise rich and classy home décor." Mumbai Sé is branded as a 'Uniquely Singapore' concept. In the words of Mohamed Ali Alabbar, chairman of the RSH Limited, "Inspired by India, created and launched in Singapore, Mumbai Sé is iconically India and uniquely Singapore." The target audience is global, the prices affordable. Says Sajni, "A cross section of nationalities shop at Mumbai Se. Initially, we did not expect such a range of people, but after two months, we soon noticed that many of our shoppers come from all parts of the world. We are now bringing in items to suit different nationalities and targeting each designers' collection to them." Incidentally, saris are a hot commodity with the Singaporean women! |
