Wayside Worship
Published: Volume 12, September-October 2004

A vermillion-streaked statuette amidst a bustling marketplace. Temple bells at a highway corner. Garlands hanging from a banyan tree…. A multitude of deities, ruling from their revered nooks in the chequered canvas of a throbbing city. Mumbai-based lensman, Akash Mehta, walks down the crowded streets of the metropolis, with a prayer in his heart, and captures colourful cameos of everyday faith and fervour.
