Superb Roll Out For Skoda In India
ONLINE EXCLUSIVE

It's pouring automobiles on Indian roads and the Skoda Superb is the latest model out of the SkodaAuto India showroom, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Volkswagon Group.

The Skoda Octavia was the first car that was launched in India in 2001 from the Czech makers' automobile stable and had received a tremendous response from it's Indian customer base.

The sleek contours and elegant, flowing lines of the car underscore the Volkswagon design influence. Apart from the stylish exterior, passenger comfort has been accorded the highest priority. The aptly named Skoda Superb is equipped with six air bags, power seats, 'auto' air conditioner and heating facilities, an adjustable steering wheel as per the driver's reach and height, a blessing for all the petit drivers. Another interesting, albeit unusual feature of the car is an umbrella compartment inside the left rear door, with a drain that funnels water away from the car, surely an attractive proposition for the rain washed roads, and knee-deep puddles characteristic of Mumbai. An added incentive for all the gizmo freaks, the car also comes fitted with a CD player and a trip computer

The Skoda Superb also has the privilege of being amongst the most successful cars in the discerning and demanding European markets.

Having identified India as one of the major markets in the region, Skoda is planning on introducing more of its models in the near future. To this end, they have established a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Shendra near Aurangabad.

Skoda has a network of 35 dealerships in the country and in the last three years since their launch, have sold an impressive 13000 units in the country.
